First the chiropractor will examine your child’s entire spine for spinal misalignment (and abnormal spinal bio-mechanics). The more misalignment (and abnormal spinal bio-mechanics) present the more stress on the discs, joints, ligaments and muscles. Chiropractors correct misalignment with what we call an adjustment. One particular technique is called an activator. It involves using a mechanical hand held instrument that can deliver a specific and measured force to the vertebra. The force can be adjusted depending on the age of the child.
Chiropractic adjustments to children are very gentle and low risk.
